Taihang Mountain has dense shade in long summer; the landscape of Eight Spring Gorge is reflected into ponds. A great event is planned and implemented in the flourishing age; all parties are busy with 5A building of the Eight Spring Gorge. The mobilization meeting for building the Eight Spring Gorge of Grand Canyon of Taihang Mountain at Huguan County of Changzhi City into 5A scenic area was held at Grand River Hotel on June 13th. More than 300 people, including relevant government leaders at provincial, municipal and county levels of Shanxi, the work team and first secretary assigned by the culture and tourism department at Qiaoshang Township, cadres at township and village levels of Qiaoshang, relevant units directly under Huguan County and market units at villages and towns, staff officers of Taihang Tourism Corp. and Eight Spring Gorge Scenic Area and some representatives of agritainments and travel agencies, attended the meeting.
The important guiding spirits of main government leaders of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, CPC Committee and Government of Shanxi Province and CPC Committee and Government of Changzhi City about building 5A scenic area were conveyed at the meeting, and the scenic area, townships, villages and related departments were mobilized in accordance with the work requirements from the leaders of Shanxi Province and Changzhi City and 5A building criteria to improve their political positioning, make clear about their work tasks, take serious measures concerning comparison and rectification, work on tourism steadfastly and unite as one for 5A building, work energetically and ingeniously, hand over an answer sheet with high marks and ensure that the scenic area is built into national 5A scenic area. The Eight Spring Gorge Scenic Area responded positively. Promotion Meeting of Building National 5A Scenic Area was held at Diaoyutai Hotel on June 14th and the “charge trumpet” for 5A building work was sound passionately.
Yang Qinrong (Deputy Secretary of CPC Party Committee and Mayor of Changzhi City) emphasized two aspects, “Firstly, I want to talk about the great significance. The red Taihang spirit has inspires us to strive for continuous self-improvement from generation to generation. The magic power of the nature has carved out the magnificent momentum of Eight Spring Gorge. We should make good use of such unique resource and enable more tourists to appreciate the magnificence and beauty of the Grand Canyon of Taihang Mountain. The Eight Spring Gorge Scenic Area of the Grand Canyon of Taihang Mountain is the leader scenic area of “Taihang Sector”, one of the three major tourism sectors established by CPC Committee and Government of Shanxi Province. It’s the key scenic area for the transformation and development of Shanxi as well as the entry point and breakthrough point of culture and tourism industry. The 5A building of Eight Spring Gorge Scenic Area can not only promote the economic development of Huguan County, but also help local people get rid of poverty and become rich and play a certain promoting role in the publicity of Shanxi and Changzhi. Secondly, I want to talk about how to do a good job. CPC Committee and Government of Huguan County have set up 5A work team, made clear about tasks and assigned responsibilities to relevant people. Relevant functional departments of Changzhi City and Huguan County should provide full support, compare and study criteria to find gaps, benchmark and implement item by item, formulate rectification measures, overcome difficulties to bring the 5A golden signboard back home to submit a satisfactory transcript to CPC Committee and Government of Shanxi Province and present a gift to the 70th anniversary for the founding of the People’s Republic of China!”
Li Quanxin (Deputy Director of the People’s Congress of Changzhi City and Secretary of CPC Committee of Huguan County) said at the mobilization meeting, “Leaders have attached unprecedented attention to the work of building Eight Spring Gorge Scenic Area of the Grand Canyon of Taihang Mountain into national 5A scenic area and the level of this meeting is unprecedented. The opportunity for 5A building is unprecedentedly good. For 5A building, we should adhere to issue orientation, rectification orientation and normalization orientation, make issue list, responsibility list and rectification list, improve weak links, strengthen weak points and grasp rectification, and maintain normalization at the same time. We must work together and coordinate with each other. On one hand, we need to divide our work and assume respective responsibility; on the other hand, we should cooperate with each other and make concerted efforts. ” 
At the promotion meeting, Cheng Kaixian (Board Director and General Manager of Tai Tourism Co., Ltd.) told all the participants about the arduous development process of Eight Spring Gorge Scenic Area from small to large and from weak to strong, and she put forward work requirements for building 5A scenic area, “We should build hardware facilities according to standards and set up an example through software service.” She called on everyone to do their best at their respective post, adhere to post and punctuality, enhance awareness, change service attitude; study criteria and improve service capability; and gather ideas and strength for building 5A scenic area.
Xiao Ruiming (Deputy General Manager and Labor Union Chairman of Taihang Tourism Co., Ltd.) reported the progress, supervision and inspection of the work of building Eight Spring Gorge Scenic Area into 5A scenic area, and put forward rectification measures and solutions. At the same time, all the centers (scenic areas) were required to improve reward and punishment mechanism, keep strictly the rules for reward and punishment and orient individual work accurately in the future; find weak links during work; and find gaps by compassion with first class and work together to build 5A.
Guo Hongfei (Director of 5A Building Office) elaborated on the service criteria for service post of Eight Spring Gorge Scenic Area and provided in-depth analysis of the assessment rules of national 5A scenic area. He required everyone to implement the eight major items and 1000 points one by one earnestly, make concerted efforts, push forward work actively, change service attitude and improve service level; highlight humanized service, embody cultural connotation, adhere to the service concept of “people-oriented & tourists first” and spare no efforts to build the new tourism image of Eight Spring Gorge Scenic Area.
